The Spectrum

This one is very important to me. This one is a big one, it’s a photo of the Spectrum issue of Mental Health. I really enjoyed seeing this issue fully devoted to raising awareness. I didn’t even realize what it was about until I sat down to read it. I was more interested to read it than other ones. I think it’s important to spread awareness in general but esp. on college campuses where people are caught up in everyday things, they might not realize that they have a mental illness. Or that they have anxiety and don’t know or realize that there can be something to help out. According to the stats 1 in 4 college students suffers from mental illness. Spreading stats about that is really important for the general population. College students and other people don’t realize how common it is. It can happen to them or friends. A lot of people don’t realize that it’s there. Overall I was happy to see that they were putting more awareness out for it. The articles in there were very helpful for educating everybody for them to realize a small insight into what it is like. To show how many resources there are on campus. No one has to suffer alone. I knew what that was like. It’s a really scary feeling. I don’t want anyone to go through that. It’s really important to have that awareness. I feel like there should be more of this awareness or advertising about resources. Not everyone picks up the paper. I am hoping through this research more information can get out. I don’t want anyone to suffer alone. There should be more, just to get it out there. By using resources I was shown that you are not alone. They work with you so that you know that you are not alone. That made me feel better that there were people on campus that were similar to me.
