Recovery Campout Serenity

Since starting recovery, I finally allow myself to find peace in a lot of things. I want serenity and finding that isn’t always easy. Sat on the beach for 30 minutes while thinking about all of the things I am grateful for. Today I am clean, even just that fact shows me how far I’ve […]

Time wasted.

Although I love artwork of all kinds this is a representation of hours wasted. Stuck in my head home alone with nothing more than my own thoughts and auditory hallucinations. I could have been spending time with family or out making new friends but using makes it so easy to isolate myself from the world. […]

Dad?

A picture of the flag that was draped over my father’s casket when he was buried at the age of 21. A heroin user who struggled with depression. He committed suicide and will always be the reason I continue to fight my own mental health concerns, and never do downers. He is my light when […]

Ready to change.

To most it’s just a bottle of water and a box, but to me I’m shaking, it’s a trigger. It’s where I kept my using supplies. Wanting to retrain my brain I am keeping the box to associate it with something positive. Eventually it’ll also serve as a reminder of what I can overcome.

My Daily Medications

300mg Venlafaxine, 1200mg Ibuprofen, 324mg Ferrous Gluconate, 500mg Turmeric, 50ng Zinc. Every day, when I wake up in the morning. Or else I suffer adverse effects that makes my body feel like it’s wanting to give from the inside out.

Living with Mental Illness

Here I was in full blown active addiction. I was going around city to city taking pictures of myself in random truck stop restrooms. My life was so unmanageable I wasn’t taking care of my responsibilities like my children or anything else that comes with being an adult. Addiction takes everything from you over time. […]
